Pumpkin Picking

Had a great time picking real pumpkins.  Choosing pumpkins, corn maze, and seeing the animals were great!  

Corning Glass Museum

Danielle and I had a great time at the corning museum of glass.  We got to see glass blowing, and all the great pieces at the museum.  We even got to take home some glass pieces.  I am glad I finally got to go.  

Farmers Markets

I love our local farmers market.  It gives me a good reason to wake up a little early on a Saturday morning. These flowers were only $3.50!  What a deal!  Now they are sitting in my office. They brighten my day in the morning when I come into the office. 

Happy 1st Anniversary!

Thanks you everyone for our1st anniversary wishes by text, facebook, phone calls, and cards!  George and I had lunch at the country club that we got married.  We had a great, stress free weekend together.  

Tomato Plants

Living in an apartment makes it hard to have a garden.  On our back step I added two tomato plants.  I planted them around May 3rd. 

Here is a close up shot of one of the plants.  One is cherry tomatoes and one is Roma, I think.  I forget what I planted.  I think one of the plants produces orange or yellow fruit. You can see our "we have a dog sign" on our back door. Also, the rock I found that I painted an R on. 

This morning I saw that this is a couple small tomatoes starting.  My Mom used similar plants in a topsy turvy.  So far they are both about the same size. In the last couple weeks these plants have needed little water because of all the rain we have been getting. 

My current office

This is the view from my desk.  You can see the flowers bloomed from yesterday.  These shelves were hidden in the closet when I moved in.  I put them back up because they look nice on the wall.  This is a big upgrade from my cubicle at my last job. 

Thankful

I really enjoy having fresh flowers around the house.  One of my favorite flowers are hydrangeas. I picked these out side of my parents house.  My favorite ones are the blue ones. 

My friends Mike and Amanda also got me some flowers this week.  It was very thoughtful of them.  I now have them in my office with me.  

 

The tables are assembled!

The tv stand was broken when it was shipped :(. The company (Blue Dot) that is part of target is sending replacement pieces. I did get the tv stands together. Very easy to assemble and very sturdy. Here is some pictures. Enjoy. You can see the before picture in an earlier post. I picked up the lamps at TJ Max. They have a great lamp selection there.

New Desks

George wanted more room for his legos! We also would like more table space for games, and scrap booking. As you can see my stuff is on the left and all his monitors are on the right. It is working out great so far!

Putting together your own furniture

I decided to go with the Target furniture knowing from the comments that it may come damaged in shipping. The tv stands shipped perfectly, but the tv stand did not. I will try to call today to get a replacement part. Hopefully I will get the pieces soon.

Update: I called and they said the company does not send replacement parts. They said that they will send me a new one and give me information on how to send the other item back.

Living room pictures before

I took these pictures last year but it looks the same. Charlie is a little bigger now, but still loves to be in pictures. I am going to keep the couches, and recliner. I am getting a new shelf to replace the hutch, changing the tv stand, the side tables, and the lamps. Does anyone have any lamp ideas?

Rate my Space

I guess at least 200 people saw my bedroom on HGTV rate my space.

New Bedroom Pictures

After Christmas my Mom and I picked these pictures up at home goods. I hung them over the bed. I was going to put them a little lower but I wanted to balance them with the height of the room.

New Furniture

Today I should be getting in the mail new furniture from Target. A new tv stand and two new side tables. I am changing the room to be more contemporary. I like the clean lines. Pictures to follow :).

Busy Evening

I had a great evening after work. George and I went to Lowes and we got new lamp shades for the living room. They update the room a lot. We then went to Sheetz and cashed in a couple lottery tickets for new ones. They were not winners. George said he will be done with lottery tickets for a while but I do not believe him.

We then went to Avenue 209 for an iced coffee and a soda float. I wanted the caffeine to stay awake for trivia night and George always loved a good soda in a glass. We played uno and I won :).

We then went for a 2 mile run on the levee. I listened to Christmas music because I did not realize that was the only thing on Georges MP3 player. The last 1/2 of mile was hard but it felt great when I was done. The shower after a long run always feels so good. Maybe I should run the days that I don't feel like showering.

We then went to trivia night at Uncle Als. We got 2nd but we all had a great time. I knew a couple questions which I was happy about. Now time for bed an another great summer day.
