I had a first interview yesterday to be a Software Coordinator at the PSU library. They have a pretty large operation going on over there (compared to LHU). I really love the job I have now. It will be sad to leave. But as I look ahead, I hope there will be more interviews in the future!

I am thankful for:

Friends and family. This is such an important factor in my life. I do not know what I would do without them. They are what makes life exciting. I love helping them out when I can.
My Wonderful Husband. I have been blessed to meet a great guy at the right time. I always enjoy spending time with him.
Charlie- A couple years ago on a dream board that I created, I added a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Well I got one! I didn't think it was possible but George got permission to have him in our apartment and we decided to purchase him. I am amazed at the amount of tricks that he can do!
No Debt- There are so many material objects in my life. It is great to know the feeling that I do not owe anyone for them. I might not have the nicest car or house, but I know that I can afford them.

I love our local farmers market. It gives me a good reason to wake up a little early on a Saturday morning. These flowers were only $3.50! What a deal! Now they are sitting in my office. They brighten my day in the morning when I come into the office.

Since I am part of TripAdvisor, I reviewed the Iberostar Rose Hall Suite hotel that we stayed at Jamaica.

Jamaica

We had an amazing 5 nights and 6 days in Jamaica. We stayed at the all inclusive resort Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. I have done a lot of traveling, and this is the most relaxing place I have ever been! We got off the plane at 10:30 and by 11 our stuff was in the room, and our feet were in the sand! Starting at 11 we changed into beach clothes, went swimming in the ocean, had a drink, went in the infinity pool, and tanned a little on some beach chairs. We did pretty much the same thing the other days. We also went zip lining. I had fun but I probably won't do it again :). The food was amazing, the people were great, and I had an amazing time!

Well the last house we want to look at was recently rented because it was not sold. So this is the next one on our list! We hope to see it this week. My issue with this house is that it does not have a basement and has small square footage. I guess we will see as the week goes on!

We are starting to realize what we really want in a home. We go house shopping for the first time tomorrow. This is one of the houses that is currently at the top of the list. Having a house like this will allow me to be a stay at home Mom, and get my Doctorate. Then when we both have full time jobs we can move up in the world. After a good rest George and I realized that mold is something we don't want to worry about! My Mom had us look at modular homes today and they may be a possibility. I am glad George and I came to the conclusion at the same time. During this process we are slowly realizing what we both want in a house. Thanks Heather and Diana for your help during this week!

Well we took the tour with our parents. For me it is really coming back to the mold. The house had a huge mold problem. A pipe burst and it sat for a while. Now the pipe is fixed and the mold is “gone”. A test has been done to make sure it is gone. But... is there still mold? We are doing some research but this is really disheartening. So we decided to take 3 weeks off to do some research and relax to decide what to do. If the house sells in that time then the house was not for us.

We can even fix some of the negatives. My parents are due for a trip up to LH, so we are going to see the house together. I guess we we see what happens. I will try not to worry until then!

9 Mile Walk

We went on a 9 mile walk with some friends on Rails to Trails in Central PA. It took us about 3 hours. Charlie came with us. George carried him for a little bit because he looked tired. I think Charlie enjoyed the walk.

We went it the house yesterday it we both had a very good feeling about it. It was foreclosed and has been redone by a house flipper. A pipe burst so there was mold in the house so he replace many things. It now has been tested for mold and is fine. But he did not just paint and put up new fixtures. He put in new floors and walls. So now what? I called my friend Heather to ask for some advice when we got back. She said to make a pros and cons list so here it goes. Maybe everyone can give me some advice when I am done? Buying a house is scary! :) But I think it will be rewarding at the end. Ok Pros and Cons in no specific order:

We went up there last night and it has an amazing view. I am really excited to see it after work. It has it pros and cons. For example this one is a little out of town... is that a pro or a con?

George and I went to Crabfest 2010 at our friends Adam and Diana's House. Diana is a friend from college and we were both recently in each others weddings.

Absolutely - please plan to stay overnight if you're up for having fun after the sun goes down. There is limited bed/couch space so if you have a sleeping bag or air mattress it may be helpful to bring it along (at least for those who don't have something if you get a room). No one should drive away and put themselves and others at risk!

Well, as tradition as told us, we ate our year old wedding cake. I decided to eat it still frozen since the only preservation in the freezer was the box. Yes, no plastic wrap, no vacuum seal. So we both tasted a piece and were happy with that.

I like to take a little work break in the morning and have some tea. My favorite is just plan jane earl grey. I have tried a lot of different tea but black is my favorite. Sometimes I drink green tea because it hear that it is good for you.

For Christmas I got A LOT of tea from George's family. I think my personal stash is stocked up for a long time now! I think my tea obsession started when I studied abroad in England with my friend Laurie. We drank tea with every meal. Now when we travel together I think we do the same! What is your favorite type of tea?

Lock Haven YMCA

George and I joined the YMCA for three months! So far we have actually been going. We been using the machines in the cool air conditioning. It is a lot nicer in there then outside in the hot humid weather!

My new favorite thing is Zumba! Zumba is basically latin dance exercise class. So far I have been doing it for about a month and loved it. Has anyone else tried Zumba??

One Year Anniversary

Yesterday, my friends and I went to dinner and then visited the SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY FLY-IN. For those of you that don't know, I live in Lock Haven, PA, located in central PA. To quote Wikipedia "William T. Piper, Sr., built the Piper Aircraft Corporation factory in Lock Haven in 1937".

Mike, our unoffical tour guide gave us a tour. To quote the Lock Haven Express "Last year 230 airplanes from 30 states and Canada attended during the four-day fly-in, and more are expected for the 25th anniversary of the event that brings in Piper airplane owners in from all over the county to the birthplace of the Piper Cub."

Amanda is showing you the C54 Spirit of Freedom that helped with the Berlin Airlift.

We walked around for a little. Here is my Husband George smiling for the picture.

Overall it was a beautiful night. What a great little city to live in.

Tomato Plants

Living in an apartment makes it hard to have a garden. On our back step I added two tomato plants. I planted them around May 3rd.

Here is a close up shot of one of the plants. One is cherry tomatoes and one is Roma, I think. I forget what I planted. I think one of the plants produces orange or yellow fruit. You can see our "we have a dog sign" on our back door. Also, the rock I found that I painted an R on.

This morning I saw that this is a couple small tomatoes starting. My Mom used similar plants in a topsy turvy. So far they are both about the same size. In the last couple weeks these plants have needed little water because of all the rain we have been getting.

I really enjoy having fresh flowers around the house. One of my favorite flowers are hydrangeas. I picked these out side of my parents house. My favorite ones are the blue ones.

My friends Mike and Amanda also got me some flowers this week. It was very thoughtful of them. I now have them in my office with me.

Meghan's Atlantic City Bachlorette Party!

This weekend we had a great time in Atlantic City! Meghan the soon to be bride (the girl who caught the bouquet at my wedding), my Maid of Honor Heather, her sister Melissa, Meghans friend Pam, and my sister all went for an overnight trip. Here is us at the beach with Heathers parents.

Duck Hunt Anyone??

We bought Charlie a new toy from Walmart. It was a duck that sounded like a duck when you squeeze it. I am using past tense because it only lasted two days. We were actually impressed it lasted more than one. Charlie finally got the squeaker out of it yesterday. George then took the stuffing out of it so it can have a little longer life as a toy. George commented "and suddenly I had the urge to play duck hunt..."

Knoebles Weekend

This weekend we got to go to KNOEBLES for a family birthday party. George's cousins child, Emily, turned 1! We had a great time! The theme was Miney Mouse! This baby was born around time time of our wedding.

The food was really good. We also go to see George's Mom. When I look at this picture I hope that our children are a little taller than me!

We then got to ride the pioneer train. Watch for the tunnel! I really like the train at Knoebles. At the turn you can see squires eating at the feeders. You also go next to by by a stream, the camp ground, and under a roller coaster! George wants a train when he wins the lottery. I told him he is more likely to get one if he invents something. Start thinking!

Our friends Mike and Amanda also joined us. Here is a picture of them on the train. They look so happy! We then went golfing with Mike and Amanda, got some more food and left. George won mini golf because he got 4 holes in 1! What skill! We even knew where we parked this time!

I wanted a new cell phone that had a keyboard (So I could txt friends) that was free. It took about 3 months but I found the Envy3 at Best Buy for $0! I think there is a lot of bad information about cell phone out there. I feel like I need to ask at least 3 cell phone salesmen before I can get a straight answer about something. I never had a red cell before. Always Black.

How to do a scrapbook in 1 night

Decide how many pages are in the scrapbook
Pick the 12 x 12 paper for the book.
Lay out all the paper on large surfaces in the room putting 2 pages close together so they can go side by side.
Put the pictures on the pages (loosly).
Arrange the pictures on the pages.
Glue the pictures on.
Add other stickers and other things and glue them down.
Put the pages in the scrapbook!

Just going to put this out there. You can buy all your household products at this site and they ship it to you for free! I tried it once. I thought the prices were good, free shipping, and they put coupons on automatically. I liked how you could see the lowest price and the lowest price per unit. Thought it might work for some of you.

Roomba!

Our old roomba broke so we bought a new one. I should not say it broke. The battery was old, then we got a new one and that one did not work either. We found a great deal for $100 at kmart. It is new and clean. Charlie has not barked at it yet which we are happy about. We can use some of the spare parts of the old one in case the new roomba has issues.

The tv stand was broken when it was shipped :(. The company (Blue Dot) that is part of target is sending replacement pieces. I did get the tv stands together. Very easy to assemble and very sturdy. Here is some pictures. Enjoy. You can see the before picture in an earlier post. I picked up the lamps at TJ Max. They have a great lamp selection there.

I decided to go with the Target furniture knowing from the comments that it may come damaged in shipping. The tv stands shipped perfectly, but the tv stand did not. I will try to call today to get a replacement part. Hopefully I will get the pieces soon.

Update: I called and they said the company does not send replacement parts. They said that they will send me a new one and give me information on how to send the other item back.

Today I walked 7355 steps so far. That is about 3.5 miles. Go me!

New Office

Today at work I changed my office. I took a couple pictures of my last office before the move. The view out the window was amazing. Now I have a nice view of campus.

This is my first attempt for posting and adding a picture though e-mail. This happens to be a collage of wedding pictures that people took at our wedding. I can not wait to get the professional ones back. Then all th picture frames in our house can be filled with them instead of the fake people they are filled with now.

Busy Evening

I had a great evening after work. George and I went to Lowes and we got new lamp shades for the living room. They update the room a lot. We then went to Sheetz and cashed in a couple lottery tickets for new ones. They were not winners. George said he will be done with lottery tickets for a while but I do not believe him.

We then went to Avenue 209 for an iced coffee and a soda float. I wanted the caffeine to stay awake for trivia night and George always loved a good soda in a glass. We played uno and I won :).

We then went for a 2 mile run on the levee. I listened to Christmas music because I did not realize that was the only thing on Georges MP3 player. The last 1/2 of mile was hard but it felt great when I was done. The shower after a long run always feels so good. Maybe I should run the days that I don't feel like showering.

We then went to trivia night at Uncle Als. We got 2nd but we all had a great time. I knew a couple questions which I was happy about. Now time for bed an another great summer day.

Walk to work

Today I walked to work. It is about 10 minutes each way, and since I walked home for lunch it was 40 minutes all together. When I look at these stairs it reminds me of the mice caring up the key to the top of the stairs for free Cinderella. It almost makes you feel dizzy.

It is a beautiful walk though. Today was a nice summer day. The sky was blue with fluffy white clouds. The trees and grass are a lush green. The temperature was prefect with a little breeze.

I decided that I wanted to try it this year so we got a team together and put in our 5 registration fee. These are the people in our crew. Team Kamikaze team #19

We had a little trouble getting Emmy started out since we all gave her a push which made her fall into the water. But we got her back in and off.
